Curso de certificación en Incognito, en Colombia

In the 31st of August and the 1st of September Dr Fernández went as far as Bogotá (Colombia) to give a course on the Incognito Lingual Orthodontics Technique organized by 3M Unitek Colombia. This Lingual Orthodontics Technique requires that any orthodontics professional who wishes to begin using these brackets must receive a certification training course.
Only professionals with experience and who have been trained by Dr Wiechmann (An orthodontist and the designer of the apparatus) may give these certification courses. This course was given entirely by Dr Leandro Fernández .
The course is composed of a theoretical part and a practical part with typodonts in order to practice the ligating of the arch wires to this type of bracket depending on the correction we wish to make. During the course it was explained how these brackets are manufactured to measure as well as everything relating to diagnostics and how to approach complicated cases.
40 of our colleagues with experience attended and they were very interested in implementing this Lingual Orthodontics technique, which both gives reliable results and is comfortable for the patient, in their clinics. The level of these Orthodontists was absolutely incredible. They are marvellous people who are experts in vestibular treatment (on the outer surface of the tooth) and even some of the personalities of the orthodontics world in Colombia attended. They also made Dr Fernández feel very much at home..
Several years ago, when Dr Leandro Fernández began using the Incognito technique, the majority of people with whom he spoke were of the opinion that Lingual Orthodontics was very uncomfortable for the patient and that it was impossible to treat cases in a reliable manner. Today, however, many patients are already aware of the existence of Incognito Lingual Orthodontics and the professionals know that one’s appearance during treatment is very important to the majority of patients.
