Cursos en Sudáfrica

Dr Leandro Fernandez was very pleased to be guest speaker to give two courses in South Africa on the 6th and 7th of June. In fact, it was two intense days in the cities of Johannesburg and Cape Town and he was invited by the local office of 3M Unitek South Africa.

In both cities Dr Leandro Fernandez gave a course called: “Opening the doors in Self-ligation” and more than 100 orthodontic professionals attended. The programme of the course includes theoretical concepts about friction and archwire behaviour, as well as differences between the different current self-ligating systems in the market, including explanations about the pros and cons of each of them.

In addition, some tips about the clinical handling and about the archwire sequence were included. Finally, in the afternoon, Dr Fernandez shared numerous clinical cases with the participants. The application of the theoretical concepts explained previously was revealed. He also showed them the tricks as a result of his clinical experience which can be used due to the mechanical features of this sort of system.

Very grateful for his presence, the participants took good note of Dr Leandro Fernandez’s speech; they shared their doubts and they received answers which motivated them to use this technique, according to their comments.
