Dr. Maria Jose Laporta and Dr. Leandro Fernandez.
Last July we had a pleasant visit from Dr María Jesús Laporta. The Doctor visited us from San Sebastian where she works as an exclusive orthodontist. Doctora Laporta was very keen to have firsthand experience of clinical solutions using the 3M self-ligating brackets (Smartclip y Clarity SL) with which she had been working for some time and she wanted to optimize and take the greatest advantage of the self-ligating system she is using. Like any other innovative system, it requires a certain period of apprenticeship and that effort is much easier to handle if you can call on the experience of a more experienced colleague. In the case of the Doctor, she had already attended talks by Dr Fernández and was keen to see him working at his clinic.
Also Dr Laporta is implementing the Incognito Lingual System in her practice so she also wished to use her stay in order to see Incognito cases and how to integrate both systems without causing problems with or delaying her appointments.
On another matter, and when the holidays were almost upon us, he received a visit from Dr Libia López, from Avilés, who was very interested in learning first hand from our experiences with both self-ligation (Smartclip and Clarity SL) and Incognito, especially how both systems can be integrated. It also turns out that Dr López is studying her Course in Lingual Orthodontics, a course which Dr Fernández is giving together with other professionals at the Faculty of Dental Science of the University of Valencia. We were very pleased with her visit.
Both Doctors commented when leaving, that they were very satisfied and for us it was a great pleasure to help them in their day to day work. It is always nice to do so and we, too, learn from the professionals who come to our clinic. We feel honoured. Thank you!!
