V Annual Symposium Intelligent Orthodontics .

On the 23rd and 24th of September Dr Leandro Fernandez took part as speaker at the V Edition of the Annual Symposium which is organized by 3M Unitek and that is called Intelligent Orthodontics. The programme of this Symposium included conferences about both Self-ligating orthodontics (low friction) and Incognito Lingual Orthodontics. Dr Leandro Fernandez gave two talks. On Friday, he spoke about control of the vertical and transverse dimension when using Self-ligating brackets and on Saturday he talked about Incognito Lingual Orthodontics, the most important ligatures, the most frequent mistakes that could be made, etc.

It was an unusual experience for Dr Leandro Fernandez, firstly because of the place where it was held: the Fine Arts Circle. It is a wonderful place and it is quite difficult to describe with words the feelings when standing on such a beautiful stage while almost 400 colleagues are listening to you. This is one of the best feelings which one has ever had at a professional level. Secondly, the audience was very interested, taking notes, asking questions… This sort of events is very gratifying since apart from sharing the clinical experience of our daily practice in the clinic, we become motivated to be up to date and to find topics that are attractive to other fellows.

The subject related to Incognito Lingual Orthodontics attracted a lot of attention. The current society opts for the beauty more and more and the orthodontic treatment for adults is very common. Learning to use this sort of technology implies an effort and that is why almost 400 experienced professionals spend their spare time improving and learning. Lingual Orthodontics is fashionable
